I thought maybe the late 74 2+2 got the R200, but it doesn't show up in the FSM until '75. Of course, we all know that there were mid-year changes throughout the S30 run. I would think that something as significant as a differential would have shown up in the FSM since the dealers would have to service them. July 1, 20213 yr comment_624388 Here's a part that continued through the R180 to the R200. Kind of suggests that October 1973 was when "something different" happened with the mustache bar for the 2+2. Maybe I should be looking at small bumper 2+2's also. Edit - actually I did when I looked through BAT. Only one guy showed the diff. https://bringatrailer.com/datsun/260z/?q=260z http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun/Z-1969-1978/axle/rear-suspension/28 Edited July 1, 20213 yr by Zed Head +'s Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/65551-datsun-nissan-z-and-zx-types-of-transmissions-and-differentials/?&page=3#findComment-624388 Share on other sites

I guess the 13 S30 Z cars I own must be something else then. Here are VIN tags of three of them. But then, what do I know? I'm confused by what you are saying. Yes, Nissan used HLS30 for the US 240Z and 280Z, but they used RLS30 for the 260Z. July 1, 20213 yr comment_624392 He said 260Z, not 240Z. Here's the GI from 1974. Oops. Listen, anyone who thinks they Know It All about these cars simply doesn't know how much they don't know. I'm always interested, and willing, to learn. I certainly don't think I Know It All, and nor would I even want to. Where would be the fun in that? There's always something new to learn, as you have so artfully demonstrated of yourself in this thread. It is kind of odd mix of 240Z and the changes coming for the 280Z. And they sold more 260Z's in a single year in the US than any other Z model! RLS30 - dare to be different...
