Hey everybody. My wife just inherited her dad's one owner 72 240Z. Hasn't been started or driven since about 2005. Car was sold new at the same dealership in Marion,Indiana that the $300k green 240 BAT car came from. I'm a lifelong gear head (muscle era mopars) and have completed a rotisserie restoration on my 69 1/2 six pack Super Bee. That being said I know nothing about these Z cars so I decided to join for info and advice when I start getting the 240 roadworthy this fall. Looking forward to working on this neat little car.

Nice dowry. LOL

Welcome and thanks for bringing a nice original car for us to see.

Whoa! Black engine bay. Look for the color code sticker on the passenger's side of the top radiator support. It may have had a color change.

Still looks really good.

My Bee is the same way. In some light it looks orange and other light it looks red. Is the stripe in your pic a factory stripe or just a common add on? I see a lot of cars with that stripe but didn’t know if it was factory.

Very nice car and welcome!   If your picture is fairly accurate, it looks it has had a respray at some time with a color change to red.  Cliff's picture is close, hard to take a good pic in direct sun, best to do a dusk with the softer light.

Take a look under the carpet in the hatch area and see if you can see the persimmon color...

That Z is a keeper, and great color.

Nice Super Bee.

A long time friend is a Mopar guy. 1972 Tradesman van, he dropped a 340 in it years ago. Suprises all the guys at the Mopar meets at dragstrips. He had a 67 Dart GTS 383 in high school, totalled it. He found a shell about 15 years ago that had been used as a gasser, fenderwells cut open for headers, and nothing but a rear axle. Moved it around his shop like a wheelbarrow. Took about 7 years and he gathered up everything.

He is prett proud of it.

A 68 Coronet 500.

A 69 383 Road Runner. It runs and drives, but is scheduled for the same treatment as the Dart GTS.

A 72 383 Barracuda, hasn't been driven in 25 or 30 years, awaiting a full restoration.

A 67 Dart GT convertible. A friend was fixing it up for his wife, he got cancer and died, and his wife gave it to my buddy. He spent about 5 years finishing it.

Those are dealer add ons from all I've read. It has white interior so the white stripe. I didn't really like it so I sold it and kept the #918 with black interior and rocker stripes. The window sticker from that one calls it "sports package".

They're available if your interested.
