Toyota brake upgrade clearance

Good advice above.

I had to do that to fit my 14” rims and took off a full 5mm off the fins. The way I figure it is that those callipers were designed to stop a two tonne truck and my Z will never stress them enough to need the fins.

Yes, the Rewinds don't come close to fitting over the S12 + W calipers.  They only need to be ground down at the inner corner, the rest of the fins can stay in place.  I also needed to install longer studs to get proper thread engagement on the Rewinds.  Make sure you have enough threads engaged.

Thank you that worked I took a flap disk to it and now I got rim clearance. Now my other clearance issue is the rotor to caliper. It’s equally tight on both sides should I file the caliper down slightly to get a little wiggle room. It even rubs a tiny bit on the caliper.

Are those calipers for solid rotors, or vented rotors?
I think there are two versions, aren’t there?

It doesn’t look like you have the brake pads in there.
