Posted June 11, 200321 yr comment_40615 Hey Guys; Iam building a 72 with a small block Chevy and a 700R4. According to the JTR book the stock shifter and linkage will hook-up to the trans, and it does. The question, in the book it shows the shifter mounted to a piece of angle iron which is bolted to the trans, is this a inorder to prevent the trans from accidently shifting from torque or could the shifter be mounted to the floor??? How about using a cable shift, from a Camaro, mounted to the stock shifter . Thanks for the input in advance!!
