Posted October 5, 20213 yr comment_629571 I’m not having any luck bleeding the bleeding brakes and want to try speed-bleeders. Does anyone know the thread pitch for calipers and drums? October 5, 20213 yr comment_629573 You will need 7mm X 1.0 and 10mm X 1.0. Sorry, I can't remember which size is which for the calipers and the drums. I bought these from Amazon: Russell 639560 and Russell 639570, both are produced by Edelbrock and worked out very well. October 6, 20213 yr comment_629638 Of course, we forgot to ask. What kinds of problems are you having with bleeding your brakes? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/65892-bleeder-screws-pitch/#findComment-629638 Share on other sites
October 7, 20213 yr Author comment_629657 I can't get the front brake circuit to produce any bubbles in the fluid. I replaced the brake booster, master cylinder, and pads and shoes. I have some resistance in the pedal, but have to push it twice for usable braking. I've been using the type bleeder that connects to my compressor and then sucks fluid out through the bleeder screw. It wasn't working, so I bought another one, different brand, with the same results. The reports of the speed bleeders are positive, so I thought I'd give that a try. They have been ordered from Amazon, so I should be back on the road soon. Thanks to all for the prompt and accurate advice. October 7, 20213 yr comment_629673 Did you see fluid coming out of the calipers when you bled? Did you bleed the MC? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/65892-bleeder-screws-pitch/#findComment-629673 Share on other sites

Do you get fluid when your helper presses the pedal and you crack the bleeder open?
