Bonus Luck points if the liquid makes it thru to the drive rotor. $.02 from the cheap seats. That'll just dilute the engine oil with rustbuster, won't go anywhere near the oil pump! October 27, 20213 yr comment_630536 The pump drive shaft bore is not connected to the circulation pathways. Those ports are in the case. If you remove the base plate, the sump will not drain; the oil must first be drawn up by the action of the pump. October 27, 20213 yr comment_630553 Based on what the rest of your car looks like I would whack the crap out of it until it falls off. Most likely the pump has never been removed and was submerged under the ocean or wherever your car was sitting to get so rusty. No offense about your car I just mean it’s literally probably just sealed on there from the years and years of neglect and outside environmental forces Edited October 27, 20213 yr by AZDatsun Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/65962-oil-pump/?&page=2#findComment-630553 Share on other sites

October 28, 20213 yr comment_630579 It depends a lot on where you live. My current project was very rust free. And only required two small floor board patches. They are getting more rare though Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/65962-oil-pump/?&page=2#findComment-630579 Share on other sites

October 28, 20213 yr comment_630594 this is the gear on the crank that that spindle engages with, as it goes diagonally across the top of it at about 10 o clock.
