i've seen the picture of that last "AWD" z on hybridz.org. its not AWD; in other pictures you can see a red top SR20 through the scoop. sooooo, its not AWD. as for it being on the AWD dyno, there was an R32 in the background, but i don't think you can see it in that picture. i spend too much time reading on forums...

the blown V8 Z looks like a scary car.

Hey Alfa,

No chance of it being AWD SR20 as the GTi-R & SSS Bluebird AWD cars came with the east-west (front wheel drive) version engines which makes it impossible to fit between the towers.

Now RB26 AWD on the other hand has been done in a Z but the one in the pic in my opinion isn't AWD. The left head light is missing & through it I can see the strut tube, if it were AWD a completely different set up is required so as to get the drive shafts to the front hubs.

I hope I'm right about this one!

If there's other pics of this car I'd like to see them.

Nick.

yep.. true..

Nissan SR20DET engines... AWD platforms for common Sentra and Pulsar swaps....

AWD engine.. with AWD tranny that can be used in a FWD platform in an Sentra or SE-R with the original SR20DE tranny.

So... the owner could of gotten an SR20DET... BLueBird... Avenir or GTiR engine to power his AWD Z :)

where the hell did it say there was an SR20 engine in it?

Can an AWD SR20 powered 240/260/280z be accomplished...

it will fit, it can be done.. just need to mount the engine.

If an BLueBird can have an SR20DET engine an AWD tranny.. I absoultly sure yoou can simply swap the engine and tranny into a Z.

whoever said its a sr20, can you find those pictures, really interested. people can mistake a SR20 redtop for a red valve covers which are RB26 sometimes..

off the topic kinda, i'm in contact with a friend in japan, who saw a AWD rb26deT 240z that is in the making, owner is hoping for 8second passes, but its not a real 240z, its basically a R34 GTR chassis with a modified 240z body on top, if you know what i mean, the guy building it owns a major tuning place in japan, so major engineering is in it, and its supposed to be driving on the street also....

... IE i don't know this person, just wat a mate of mine saw while visiting/working in japan... lucky he could speak japanese also.. hehe, i'm trying to make him go back and get pictures, but he says he working to much...
