Headlight cover install for cheaters

I have this paper , supplemental information for optional parts for S30 series .

Dated 45. 1. 21 ( 1970 . January 21st ) , just a little bit earlier than “Race and Rally manual Fairlady Z 432-R” February 1970 .

I want to see if there is one which is earlier than Jan 21st 1970 . We see the first parts catalog for Fairlady Z series is November 1969 . And this catalog, there are lot of blank pages .No pages for option parts ,even no pages for keys, heater system either , etc etc .
I guess parts catalog department was working so hard on publications to catch up with car delivery. I thought parts catalog was ready just in time , but it wasn’t, was it usual thing back in the days ?

So , this supplement information paper dated January 21st 1970 might not be a big delay if this is a first one , I guess.

Today we have internet, but in 1970, business people must have send these paper packed in an envelope and threw it into a post .

That is additional home work !

Here is a picture from “My car report “ Dec 1969 , do we see three screws on the head light cover ? Still mystery.

I just spent some time looking at close-ups from the Holiday Auto magazine photos you showed (thanks!) and comparing them with the other photos of the car I have collected over the years. And now I think you are right. I finally only see THREE screws. I am surprised...

Maybe I just kept seeing four because I was expecting to see four? It seems I was seeing reflections in the chrome?

But I cannot imagine - having fitted, traded and sold several sets of these covers over the years - that three screws would ever be adequate, because of the shape of the covers. I would not expect them to cinch down close to the headlamp housing, or to seal properly. The car on the show stand looked wonderful of course, but it probably had a lot of fettling and finessing when it came to the lamp cover fit?

Thanks Kats. Every day a school day.

Seems Alan and me are only people who are interested in the head light cover 😁We are in a Tokyo motor show class room , learning every day.

If this was three screw type , I would like to check design prototype cars . There might be some same  character for both  covers .
