Help - Adding ground locations

Just another random Amazon buy...It was the first meter I had handy that wasn't autoranging. Otherwise I would have used the Fluke for the video.

Oh, I get it... I'm not unimpressed with you. I'm unimpressed with HoldPeak's annoying act of "ride the coat tails of a long-standing reputable manufacturer of similar products by conveniently coming up with a name that can easily be misconstrued by the inattentive and make them think they are buying something of higher quality and reputation".

That's what I get out of the whole naming thing.

What is this ground coming from in the picture below?  Is this coming from the starter or from the alternator, or something else?

That is the main Ground (Earth) connection for the entire electrical harness - actually harnesses. There should be a Ground wire from the battery to the firewall that connects the battery Ground to the frame (unibody).

Thanks, got it.  Is it really necessary to take this spot down to bare metal?  I just painted the engine compartment lol 😒

The bolt threads into a nut that's welded to the frame. It's nearly impossible to keep the threads of the bolt and nut completely isolated (insulated from each other). So, just tightening the attachment bolt through the circle connector will give a very good connection to the frame - no need to scrape any paint off.
