oil pressure releif valve---please help

After a not altogether insignificant amount of effort the old relief valve is out and replaced. Oil now flows through the filter and all is well. I had to destroy the old valve to get it out, it fell apart instead of coming out clean. Fortunately its made of rather soft metal as opposed to the rather hard block.
