Posted March 28, 20223 yr comment_638642 Are all of the bolts not only for the front cover but for other pieces on the engine have blind holes that do NOT go to water or oil jackets. I dont want to miss one and then spring a leak. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/67337-l28-front-cover/ Share on other sites

March 28, 20223 yr comment_638645 The only one (other than the few on the front cover), that is open to the inside of the engine is the front long thermostat housing bolt. Racking my brain, but can’t think of any others. Must include the usual warning about that one thermostat housing bolt, make sure it does not protrude and come against the chain guide that is right there. You can, but I’ve never used anything but anti-seize on the threads and never ever seen an oil leak there. March 29, 20223 yr comment_638709 I used thread seal. I too never had a leak until I used BRAND NEW bolts, then even with anti-seize, it leaked. So Z Kars, were the bolts new or used (with residue of some kind on them) enquiring mind would like to know.
