Im reassembling a 78 280Z that came to me in boxes and I have two brackets that I cant find locations for. Please take a look at the pics and let me know if you know where these parts belong on the car. Thanks! 20220401_160149.jpg20220401_160136.jpg

The second part connects at the lower differential mount. I have a photo before I did my suspension resto. It is supposed to have rubber or plastic covering the face of it. Don't ask me its purpose, I have zero clue haha.

The first one looks like a heat shield.  Engine bay, exhaust area most likely.  Looks like it has nuts attached so it would match clear holes.  The round cutout probably fits around something round.

The first one is part of the HVAC system under the dash. It's the bracket that the heat control valve stuff bolts to.

If you can deal with the blurriness in this hoovered pic, it looks like this:

Great info! This car was converted to a factory AC car so the first piece must be left over from the original heater box. The tank collision idea makes sense. Thanks to all for the help!

Actually the non-A/C cars don't have that bracket at all. That bracket only exists on the A/C cars because they have additional parts that bolt to that bracket that the non-A/Cs do not have.

Not that it matters, but...     LOL
