July 25, 20222 yr Author comment_642900 I have a certified welder ready to weld the part on. And we plan to coat afterwards. Issue is I am having trouble finding rails for a 2+2. I guess I can use the standards ones with some modification. I assume the parts weld on. Thanks. July 25, 20222 yr comment_642916 Might want to get underneath and cut the damage out first and see how far the rust has gone. You might be looking at floor pans as well. Yes, the replacement pieces will get welded in place. As for the difference between the 2+2 rails and pans and those for a two seater, you will need to piece together parts, or make pieces to add the extra length. July 26, 20222 yr comment_642937 With the value of 2+2s being relatively low, and the cost and effort of welding in a new floor plan and frame rail (if it does in fact need the whole floor vs just a patch), I think I would probably sell it as is and let the new owner do the repairs. I also suspect the car has more rust than just this area pictured, that rust hole has been brewing for a while.
