Can’t say that I’ve ever seen something like that on a Z. November 9, 20222 yr comment_647088 Sometimes there were prankers that put some weard parts in a pile of parts that the new guy took from a car at the painters.. Always fun to see what they do with it! 😁 The part you show here ... i never seen such a thing.. November 9, 20222 yr comment_647089 I'd guess it is some sort of alignment tool. Bellhousing to engine block for example. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/67957-unknown-part-help-identify/#findComment-647089 Share on other sites
November 9, 20222 yr comment_647094 Can't tell the exact size from the picture. A scale reference would help. If it is about the size of a quarter, I'd go with the soldering iron tip. November 9, 20222 yr comment_647102 Looked like a firing pin until Zkars id as soldering iron tip. Looks to have some shiny tin too. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/67957-unknown-part-help-identify/#findComment-647102 Share on other sites
November 17, 20222 yr comment_647270 I'd have to go out and check this with my car tomorrow...but I'm pretty sure that part seats inside the vacuum controlled solenoid valve attached to the B.C.D.D. (Boost Controlled Deceleration Device)...the solenoid valve I'm referring to screws into the side of the BCDD and has an electrical wire connected to it. I'll check this tomorrow, and if I'm wrong I'll update my post. November 17, 20222 yr comment_647275 When i take a good look on that tip.. it closes something.. as it has a rounded scoring on it.. i would think it's out of a solonoid.. November 17, 20222 yr comment_647278 A bottom view and a size reference would be very helpful in identification. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/67957-unknown-part-help-identify/#findComment-647278 Share on other sites
