Silver-240Z Posted January 27, 2023 Share #1 Posted January 27, 2023 Hey guys, just got this beautiful rosewood competition steering wheel and now need a matching shift knob. Been looking all over the net but can't seem to find one I like. Ideas?

Silver-240Z Posted January 27, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted January 27, 2023 Just talked to Willy at Nostalgic-Grains who asked for a pic of the steering wheel in sun light. Thanks!

Racer X Posted January 28, 2023 Share #5 Posted January 28, 2023 I’m going to make it sound like an echo chamber. Where did you get that awesome looking wheel at?

SteveE Posted January 28, 2023 Share #8 Posted January 28, 2023 Did you have to bend the turn signal lever (like the ad says)? And if so easy or hard to do? Thanks
dutchzcarguy Posted January 28, 2023 Share #9 Posted January 28, 2023 Nice! Looks a bit like mine that i made myself.. (i prefer my light color.) I made a matching shiftknob on a lath from the same mahogany wood as the wheel. Does the wheel have the ridges for your fingers, can't see them in your pic's? You can clearly see the "fingers"in the wheel.. much apriciated as there is no powersteering! It's made of 12 pieces of mahogany wood.. some waterresistant wood glue and some 2 comp. glue to glue it to the steel wheel inside.

Thanks Yes. The turn signal sits very close to the back of the steering wheel since it’s more than one inch shallower than the stock wheel. I was a bit nervous bending the signal but managed to gently bend it back over multiple attempts and got the desired spacing.

Great job!

I took them (the measurements) over.. more or less from the old wheel.. i drawed some lines on my wheel and took a black&decker-powerfile to make the "fingers" turned out to be more easy then i thought it would be.. i got a perfect grip on the wheel.
