Opinions on those Clear Headlight Covers... for an Z

That picture is of my car.

Those were the Original OEM Option as offered by Nissan.

I bought mine through Zedd Findings, Charlie Osbourne out of Canada. Now, from what he tells me these were one of the last group out of Japan. Since you're in Melbourne it might be possible to still buy through there.

If you should by chance find them, give me a PM as I might be interested in a second pair.

Note, they aren't cheap. The lowest I've seen them listed (2 years ago) was $120.00 US each. I paid closer to $150 plus shipping and telegram fees.

As far as the mounting, I'll post that in a follow up message.

By the way, where do you get PrOxLaMuS from ???????????

Honestly, I don't know, I combined 3 different Ancient Greek names... which I don't even remember now...

um.. Proximo... and two other names

kinda neat huh?

So i definatly think I may go out and buy some headlight covers..

which would look better on my orange car?

-The clear ones?

-The tinted ones?

-The clear ones with chrome trim?

-None.. leave it stock!

Personally, I think you'd be pleased with the clear ones with the black vinyl trim.

The Chrome ones like I have on my car may be no longer available. You'll need to ascertain that you CAN get them, then whether you want to spend that kind of money.

As far as the tinted ones, you may want to check that you won't get a ticket for that.

Get the clear ones with no trim. You will need some Rubber weather stripping.

You don't want tinted ones. How can someone see you in the dark? I know they still put out light but the point remains. I would hate to see your zed die.

Clear-safer, looks better with almost all Z-cars.

I like Escanlon's chrome ones gives it a Ferrari look I had tinted ones but I don't like them they are a hassle.

Dirty get's in them and there hard to seal if some jackass already drilled holes in not a perfect spot.

Good news is you can use a sticky tape to mount them if you don't wanna drill holes. At leas tthe ones I got from sydney had them anyway.

Zg ones might be hard to find especially with the chrome on them.:classic:

The sticky tape works....kinda works, or should I say, I made it work. I was as carefull as possible in placing the mounting tabs, but there is more stress on the bottom tab, no matter what. I followed the instructions, and waited 24 hours before mounting the covers. The bottom tabs still lifted off. I adjusted them by stacking layers of the sticky tape (3M High Adhesion) until it was a stress free environment.

There's no way I'm going to drill into my HL buckets.

I take them off to clean under them every 2nd car wash. No real hassle there. But, the rewards are great, since the install, My car gets more curbside compliments than any other car I've ever owned.
