TKR514 Posted July 1, 2003 Share #37 Posted July 1, 2003 I think it's also silly to line the passenger area in a Z with speakers, but looks like you've done that already.... It's your car. pimp it out as you wish
PrOxLaMuS© Posted July 1, 2003 Author Share #38 Posted July 1, 2003 I think it's also silly to line the passenger area in a Z with speakers, but looks like you've done that already.... What? My passenger can fit fine in my Z.... as well as my self. I realize that I loaded up the rear end of my trunk with my speakers, but the sound is truely amazing. I still have space in my trunk to put stuff, and my passenger area has plenty of room for people to sit, or lay the seat completly back. Just cause it's a little car, doesn't mean it should kill my love of a Full sound system... which exists of a great headunit, full component speakers, amplifier and subwoofers
TKR514 Posted July 1, 2003 Share #39 Posted July 1, 2003 My mistake! Sorry.I ment to say "so many speakers in the cargo area that the rear view mirror is practically useless". But give me credit that I was nice and did not even mention the sunroof thingy. But seriously, Nice car! How long have you had it?
PrOxLaMuS© Posted July 1, 2003 Author Share #40 Posted July 1, 2003 ... i knew someone would bring that up My sunroof is obviously aftermarket, and i'm not a huge fan of it, but it's nice to have in the summer .. some old lady put it in as a dealership option. And actually, I can see out of my entire back window surprisingly.. this is a good picture of how much you can see..... (well a weak example) How long have I had it? Victor Laury Posted July 1, 2003 Share #42 Posted July 1, 2003 Gee I never considered my car as "pimped out". I guess it's up to the owner to decide. Alan T. proved the headlight covers where in the intial 240Z concept drawings. It's was most likely a production cost factor that kept them off the car. How "pimped out" is fulfilling the designer's vision?
TKR514 Posted July 1, 2003 Share #43 Posted July 1, 2003 Oh, I just use it as any adjective to describe add-ons that are NOT stock to manufacturing and are added by folks to arguably "improve" the looks of a car or customize the car. Carried to the extreme, it's commonly refered to in the States as "pimped out".
zachb55 Posted July 2, 2003 Share #44 Posted July 2, 2003 hey man, i got me some from MSA and i tried them on my just primed headlight buckets and they fit well. i think they will do even better now that i have them painted. still some more work to do before i can put them on though... cant wait to see the finished look, my car will be yellow with blacked out chrome and windows so chrome trim around the buckets wouldnt work out for me... go with the clear ones from MSA, i think VB sells the exact same ones, probly same price, doesnt really matter....-ZAch
zachb55 Posted July 2, 2003 Share #45 Posted July 2, 2003 BTW- Awesome sound system dude, i cant wait to get around to putting a full system in my car, but im going to try my luck at carbon fiber forming and ill be filling in the "heater control panel" with my own creation. so hopefully ill have plenty of space for the head unit, lots of speakers and amps and crossovers and all the things that really help make the car experience complete and enjoyable
lordbiotree Posted July 2, 2003 Share #46 Posted July 2, 2003 What's the point in all that sound in a Z?...It's a small car, don't need all that much to blow you out of your mind.High quality 6x9's with mids and tweets will give you all the sound you need.Don't get me wrong. I love loud music, but I know you dont need all that much in a Z as you would in a SUV or mom's Van to get the same effect.Gotaa think of tickets. Cops dont like Highschool kids, loud music, and fast cars.
zed240au Posted July 2, 2003 Share #47 Posted July 2, 2003 come on now you know if your gonna do it you have to have the biggest loudess you can fit in its that simple as that Must say i prefer the sound of a good engine these days but in my younger days it was the louder stereo that i really liked probably why im still here today if i had had faster cars then i would have probably been wrapped around a treeMickremeber he who dies with the most toys wins
PrOxLaMuS© Posted July 2, 2003 Author Share #48 Posted July 2, 2003 well.... I am slowly... slowly building up my car.... naturally, first I wanted to improve the one place I will always be... in the car, the interior... and i wanted good sound... got that done... now.. I am going to move onto worthy cosmetics... and then time for the go.... *L28eT swap... and 5 speed tranny with exhaust* I really want an half-show / half-go 280Z... and being a 17 year old still in High School.. and a part time job... it's gonna be a while. I love my car, I love my system, cops don't mind me.. clean record... no tickets.... even in my old car with clear tail-lights.. So i think I am going to get some headlight covers
