Hey IcIce9 I really like your 280zx I'm usually a S30 fan not a S130 person but I've seen a few lately that are very nice.

Too bad we didn't get the 2 seater turbo in AUS.

BTW is it turbo?:classic:

PrOxLaMuS© I think you can blame me for Hijacking this thread.

LOL but i dodnt really start fixing her up till about 3 years ago.. my Z is a n/a but thats changing by next year.. ill be swapping to a l28et hopefully by this time next year... wish i were as lucky as you guys in AUS... its a lot easier for you guys to get hold of a RB26DETT and a lot cheaper too...:ermm:

I always forget about that Skylines here are a dime a dozen see so many GTST's around it's ridiculous there a bit of a thug car now.

A GTR is a rarer site and I must say I do appreciate them as there the real deal not some GTST wanna be with a kit on it.

RB20,25,26 are fairly easy to get here your right but if I ever turbo my 240z I'll go with my L28(P90) as I think it's keeps the car with the same original feel to a degree.

I have considered an RB engine but and a friend of mine is doing a swap from an RB30 N/A to an Rb20DET in his commodore(Family Sedan) I will be curious to see how it drives after.

Good Luck

Mmmmmmmmmm......how did we get out of talking about Headlight covers?

Oh the Power of women.

icice9- Your car almost makes me wanna keep the 280ZX Turbo I plan on buying to do a transplant into an early 71.

Z. Babe. I'm not fare behind you with cars. I own 3 71's and a 70 soon to be an 83ZXT......wow 4 early Zeds with a late S130. Man on man guess I'm making myself a Z heaven.

Glad to hear you weren't offended. You took me by surprise.

I for one am very happy to have you on board, we could use a few more ladies around the place. Rick.

Awe, thank you, Rick. :)

And, Brandon, it does becomes addictive after you buy your first Z, doesn't it? Why stop at just one? You can never have too many Z's . . . unless, of course, you run out of space to park them (and I believe I've about reached my max. capacity). LOL

Amen to that. I call them Taxis Gav. I'm not complaining though. It's nice to know we got so many of them before the new import laws were put in place. I'd like to own a 32R in a few years time when their price drops considerably. I can imagine my kids buying these cars and calling them classics.:cheeky:

I've never been one for drilling through the cones but if I ever come across a couple real cheap I might try it to see what it looks like. It'd have to be the clear ones though with the black surround.

Oh, I just remembered that my cones are welded to the guards. Oh well:ermm:

  • 4 weeks later...

i have heard researched the covers.. alot...

and I have found some that you can glue on.... (which was mentioned before)

but the glue... I have no idea what it is.. how strong it is... and if when I try to "pry" the headlight covers off.. will it rip off the paint or leave a nasty permanent glue mark?

I figured that despite the horror of drilling into my car, it would be easier to fill and paint a little screw hole that repair that nasty line of glue or stripped paint left by the glue...

any ideas?
