does anybody know the thread size for holding these bumpers on. thanks

Assuming you mean these, the screw is M5x0.8 thread, round pan head, phillips, star washer, 10 or 12mm long.

yes, those are the ones!  they were no longer available at msa.  they did not know the thread size after I ordered the new bumper stops yesterday. thanks for the help.

Nope... not a phillips.. it's a JIS headscrew, many screws get damaged by working with a phillips head screwdriver! It's JIS! google for some perfect fitting screwdriver. 

Lots of screws in a s30 are JIS.

You can recognize these screws by the little dimple in one of the 4 edges on the screwhead!!

yes, I do know that most screws are jis but I do not have any screws that will match.  I was looking for the thread size so I can purchase some from the hardware store. these screws are no longer produce from Nissan. thanks

The original poster requested the thread size and pitch, which I provided with additional details about the fastener.  

I apologize for the my use of the apparently forbidden “Phillips” term when describing machine screws on a Datsun. I shall from now on use the non-gendered term “X” or “cross” as a generic pronoun to describe screws of this style. Then the readers of the thread can choose to find and use hardware with the drive type of their choice, be it “phillips” or “JIC” or “posi-drive” or whatever the drive of the day is.

Sometimes you just need to put the bumpers on with the hardware that locally available and not the exactly correct fastener.

No need to.. hihi.. AND IT'S JISSSS... EH.. JIS!  🤣  Japan-Industrial-Standard. but they stopped with these around 1974-78 with these and my 1979 280zx has phillips screws..
