SpeedRoo Posted July 11, 2023 Share #25 Posted July 11, 2023 Great work @73str86 Always good to see a 240Z resurrected rather than broken up. Keep up the good work. 1

73str86 Posted August 9, 2023 Author Share #29 Posted August 9, 2023 A little news. The L24 is seized. I pulled the Champion plugs in order to spray the cylinders with Marvel Mystery Oil. At first the plugs looked pretty good, but #4 and #6 snapped in half unfortunately. Now I need some advice. I'm sure some spark plug particles fell in the cylinders. And if I try to remove what's stuck in the threads, more pieces will fall inside. I suppose the only next step would just be complete engine disassembly/inspection, but obviously I will leave that to the next owner and most likely sell it with seized, matching numbers L24. Any more advice would be appreciated. 1

siteunseen Posted August 10, 2023 Share #31 Posted August 10, 2023 I believe I'd stop the polishing and sale it as is. That engine bay looks like peanut brittle, most likely the interior too. GLWS
bluez Posted August 10, 2023 Share #32 Posted August 10, 2023 To bad about plugs, the ones that came out don’t look bad. The fan looks good too😁. The rest not so much.. Time to let it go.

But the interior isn't half bad besides the floors, with a crack free dash.
bartsscooterservice Posted August 11, 2023 Share #34 Posted August 11, 2023 it does has the nissan 2400 valve cover, very early 240z, if you could do the metal work yourself, and strip it down and put it on a rottiserie, it wouldn't have to cost tons, but then again, if you have to spend that out, it's better not to, just part it out. gundee Posted August 12, 2023 Share #35 Posted August 12, 2023 If that was an air cooled 911 or a 356, you are looking at $20-25K as it sits. But 240Z. A parts car. IMO.

But 240Z. A parts car. IMO. Why? It doesn't have to costs much if you can do the sheet metal work yourself, i've just finished metal work on a 67 chevelle that came from Michigan, that was half gone, trunk, inner wheels well, rockers, etc. Chassis also half gone. Only spended 6k in materials, the rest is time.
