I know I'm swimming upstream against the other recommendations for the BFM0360 Ford Dark Shadow Gray, but if you're willing to entertain other options, I recommend the Metallic Carbon Mist.

I also like the flat top carbs.   

Thanks for the input - I do see what you mean in your pics - I wish I'd seen it earlier before I spent $35 + on the other color 😞

Did you mean Rustoleum brand? When I search 261413 carbon mist comes up under that brand? EDIT - I scrolled further through your post, and see that you did mean Rustoleum Brand

I don't get the flat top comment, unless that indicates you can be contrary? 😄

Yes I did. I changed on the previous page of this thread, but it's too late for me to go back and edit that old post. Don't know why I didn't fix it back then, but I don't have rights anymore to change it now.

And as for the flat top comment, it's simply to point out that I've been known to buck the mainstream consensus on some controversial topics and hence may have questionable judgement. I've heard some even say that I "might not be all there."

He is most definately not "slow" or on the SPECTRUM. I met him, the Sasquatch in Memphis. Really weird dude but I let him in my car and we hit up some local breweries. We both got weird. Redneck from Alabama with an engineer from Philly.

Mr Obvious, I had to talk into getting in the car. I was already 3 sheets in the wind. Drove over a bridge looking for him that said "Welcome to Arkansas". I turned around and found the Man with some shot glasses of home brew on a "plank". I'll remember that until my dementia takes over.

Test fitted the panels - still waiting for the gaskets before I actually install them.  They (the chrome areas) look pretty rough up close. Still better than they were.

Yep, you had me looking at chrome paint the other day. I watched a YouTube video where a guy was trying different chrome paints. He said he got the best results from a chrome nail powder kit from Amazon.

That's interesting - I'll have to take a look. I did have to redo the chrome - the center recess on them where the foil was peeling bothered me too much. I filled the recess yesterday's then sanded, masked & repainted the chrome today. It's still got imperfections, but better overall

Interesting. The issue there is that surface imperfections will show right through. With the Chrome finish I used (I think it is Rustoleum, which he did not test), you can lay it on pretty heavy & it will level out cracks somewhat. The problem as I'm sure you know is that the original chrome foil separates, tears, buckles from the plastic, so unless you remove it all from the base, there will be issues with the surface finish of any product that is such a thin film. I think the nail polish version would be ideal for small details like the console & switch frame edging.

New lamp gaskets finally arrived, so I reinstalled my tail light panels. I will need to source new ones DTR, they are so brittle, they keep cracking when I handle them. Also had to use 3M VHB tape to glue the panels the lamps, as most of the screw mount posts are so brittle they snapped & crumbled when I tried to reinstall them.

with those installed, I was able to put the rear panel back in. I added closed cell foam to give some more density
