Posted October 9, 20231 yr comment_657993 Mount them dry or sealant on both sides? I have always used a thin layer of sealant on either side of the paper gaskets for the timing cover and it works, no leaks but no matter how careful I am there are always some that squeezes out and looks bad. Anyone had no leaks with just the paper gasket? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/68604-with-timing-cover-paper-gaskets/ Share on other sites
October 9, 20231 yr comment_657994 I've always coated both sides with a thin layer of grease. I've cussed every paper gasket I ever treated with grease, but it was always when trying to remove it later. Never any leaks.
