Posted November 10, 20231 yr comment_659255 I was looking into installing a hitch to tow a support trailer for Auto-X and checked with U-haul and got a strange response that I cannot act upon since I live in Ohio. November 10, 20231 yr comment_659256 Wow. Right in my backyard. Jeff, is your 260 an early or late? November 10, 20231 yr Author comment_659259 I think its an April '74 (VIN RLS30019158). My Z spent much of its early life in AZ with an previous owner. November 11, 20231 yr comment_659321 Early - like mine. While I don't need or want a trailer hitch, this is an intriguing proposition - and the central U-Haul facility is very close. Plus, it might make them available country wide... I may check into this. November 11, 20231 yr Author comment_659324 Well, if you think you might need a hitch, go for it. I don't think I can afford a drive all the way to AZ for this. I suspect it should be almost exactly what is on a 240z. November 11, 20231 yr comment_659325 Aw, it'd be a great trip - it's 75 degrees here right now... Kidding aside, I kinda doubt it would be the same as a 240Z - we have those stupid pistons and in stock form (who has factory rears anymore??) the rear bumper is still slim for the early 260, but mounted on the pistons and pushed away from the body. And then the lates have the park bench bumpers (most likely removed also!). edit: Just sent them an e-mail - we'll see what they come back with about waitlist time...
