Ok. So to check points opening and closing in turn the engine at crank with socket and watch points ?

Yes.  Just turn the ignition enough until you see the point open upon reaching the high point of one of the lobes .  While at it, check the point gap too.

does green white wire need to be attached to ballast?

Ok. Tried 3 distributors. No spark. Coil is brand new. All dizzy looked ok. What are the two wires coming out from under dizzy group??  Green and black white    Is it something to do with that??IMG_8740.jpeg

Car ran 10 + years ago. Not sure why it sat. Probably cuz they couldn’t get it to start.  Put in a new coil new battety new plugs tried 3 distributors. No spark.  I’m assuming the coil is wired wrong.  Is it possibly the alternator ? Does bad alternator stop the spark. ??

Slow down...

No the alternator is not needed for short duration running if the battery is fully charged.

Don't throw parts at it. That's expensive and the person before you probably tried the same.

Some one will post up a diagram of the early ignition system for you to check off of.

Do you two disconnected wires go into the dizzy?

Ohhh so in most cases the green white just goes to the ballast??? Then just black from ballast to coil?? Or should I do a Y like in the diagram of green white bench off one to coil and one to ballast can someone show me how it looks when it’s actually wired? I looked hard but could not find that.

can i do it like this???

Honestly, with all the hacked up wiring and splices and stuff, I can't tell if yours is even close to correct or not. But my assumption (based on the fact that it won't spark coupled with the cut up wires and splices, etc) is that your ignition wiring is not correct.

Can you strip the G/W and B/W mystery wires back a half inch and check voltages to body ground? Negative of meter on body ground and positive on B/W. With key off, on, and start.

And then do the same thing for G/W. Off, on, and start. What happens?
