And here's what I believe is my antenna switch connections? Seems I have a pigtail leading into the three position connector everyone seems to have?

The radio I have is from a later year. It has the later (horizontal) antenna switch design. I assume a PO changed it out at sometime in the past.

Evreything I find on the internet (ignoring the BS E-bay ads quoting antenna switches to suit datsun 240z to 280zx) seems to point to that type.

The wiring diagram is based on the two diagrams in the Xenon website 1971 240z FSM supplement

In the detail Pos 14 & 15 seem to match.

Yeah. I have no idea what's going on with that antenna connector pigtail on my car. It looks factory, but it doesn't make sense.

Here's the latest version of this diagram.

I made it more clear what was on each side of the firewall bulkhead, and also changed the oil pressure sender wire color from Y/W to Y/B.

Speaker wire should be a W and a W/B thru dash harness to body harness to left rear just slightly shorter than the antenna wiring. In the 240's I've seen (taken apart) they are in the 4-pin at the back of the radio with the power wire, but I don't remember if I've seen that connector on a Series One specifically.

(and I've always wondered why they label the blower motor "cooler"... I mean, ya, it can be used as a vent but I would hazard that mostly it's used as a heater... Just sayin')

Oh, Very nice schematic! except for the speaker wire... and it needs a speaker icon... but only one...

Here's the dash end of a U.S. Series One body harness (8/70). The two wires for power antenna and speaker wires are in the same 4-pin connector. Unfortunately I don't have the dash harness so I can't positively identify the harness to radio connection. The other end has a female bullet on the W and a male bullet on the W/B for the speaker connection.

Thanks for the help. Strange that the OEM wiring diagrams include the radio, but don't include the speaker.

And I will most certainly add a speaker icon. Still not sure how to connect it, but I'll add one! 

So here's a couple pics of an early radio, but not the earliest. It's the one with the horizontal antenna switch, not the vertical one:

I'm assuming the blue wire is 12V power in (because of the fuse and the noise filter choke ). Then that would make the other two the speaker connections:

And here on the chassis side, I've got this connector:

This connector seems to have basically the same colors as the one that goes to the radio. Blue power, plus the W and W/B for the speaker:

But the connector shape and is different than what you posted above? And your's has four wires, while what I have here only has three? I guess I need to see where that W and W/B go.

FWIW - Here are pics of the early AM radio, one I sold a few years ago. They might help answer some of the connector and terminal questions. Note that the speaker comnector is for three wires but has only two installed.

Agree, and the R/L is illumination and a male bullet on the radio makes sense as the harness side would have voltage with gauge lighting on. So in the FSM diagram above they show those four wires in a single connector. I'm going to check the 240Z in my driveway.

edit: nope. The Z I have is a friends 11/72 that I'm doing some electrical work on. The harness radio connector(s) apparently destroyed by radio installers in the past. It has the 3-pin at the harness for power and speaker - only the power is attached as he now has STEREO! So that's no help. Not a shock as most radio installations have been butchered over the years to get better tunes...

Interesting that the 1970 FSM Body Electrical shows a 4-pin connector for the radio and every other 240Z FSM shows the 3-pin pictured above and a separate lighting connector - including the 1971 Supplement.

Thanks again for the help guys. I added the speaker wires and here's the latest. I've been trying to stay very close to the original diagram style and wording, but I agree with the use of the designation "cooler". I changed it to "blower motor".

I have no outstanding known issues at this point. If anyone turns up a problem somewhere, let me know.
