February 14Feb 14 comment_674533 Excellent! Thank You! (I also kinda wonder why they sometimes include "hidden" wiring - I should say unused - in schematics and sometimes leave it out. Case in point: They never show the unused 2-pin connector or wiring (B/W & G) under the center console on the 240Z models that is there for an electric fuel pump leading to the wiring and connector bundled with the fuel tank sensor wiring. SO, many people are never aware of it's existence. But they'll usually show the unused Fog Lamp wiring... I know a lot of people who wanted or needed to add an electric fuel pump - especially with the mechanical fuel pump debacle we went through - and had no idea the wiring was already there. I've added a few impact sensors and e-pumps to 240Z's in Phoenix.) February 14Feb 14 comment_674534 Here is one other hidden wiring set in the dash: terminals for a fog light switch (the blue tape is the Easter Egg). I didn't prowl thru the Captain's diagram to see if they are in there. I've been trying to stay very close to the original diagram style and wording, but I agree with the use of the designation "cooler". I changed it to "blower motor". I have no outstanding known issues at this point. If anyone turns up a problem somewhere, let me know. Lower resolution thumbnail pic good enough to get the idea, but if you want a higher quality version, download the pdf. <V5.0> _obvious 240Z Wiring Diagram 5.0.pdf 519.44 kB · 4 downloads I wanted to plot the pdf larger but I couldn't get it to let me select a different paper size. Is there a way on your end to make it where I could plot it as a "C" size drawing? Funny you should mention that... I haven't dug deep into the details yer, but I got this going on here. Thoughts? February 15Feb 15 comment_674543 Ah Ha! Looks like a pull-push switch with a conspicuous letter "F" for... could it be... Fog??? 😲 Only lhe back side of the dash will confirm. Somehow that does not strike me as a Nissan item. If it were I would expect some form of lighting symbol, not a letter. I doubt that is a Nissan switch, and I'm betting @HS30-H can verify it is not. February 16Feb 16 Author comment_674557 I took a peek behind the dash today and there isn't anything hooked up to the "F" switch and my blue tape Easter Egg is still intact and unwrapped. I did make another discovery though while I was back there as well... The wire colors for the rear rear taillights needs work. There are some errors on the diagram. I'll be posting a new version with the changes to the rear lights soon. You can plot out the new one then. The 'early' E4100 fog lamp switch is a two pin NILES unit in the same 'flip' format as the Hazard flasher switch. It has a graphic on it rather than a letter. Here's a pair of them being used as fuel pump switches: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/69026-1970-wiring-diagram/?&page=4#findComment-674566 Share on other sites
