MSA Rear Disc - E Brake

Searching through the forum it looks like some issues with rear disc conversions are pretty common. I swapped out my rear drums in my 73 240 for the MSA rear disc kit and while the brake themselves workfine, my ebrake isn't catching now. The kit says it uses the stock cable, but I'm wondering if I need to swap out cables or perhaps theres something I haven't looked into?

I pull the ebrake...the car still moves. It won't engage fully.

There is adjustment to the parking brake system. You probably won't like where it's at...

Tried the adjustment, I have it maxed out and the brake still doesn't fully engage. One tire will (I want to say my passenger) but the other won't. On a slight incline the car rolls.

And the car drives and brakes correctly with good pedal pressure? If not you could have a fluid/air issue at the rear calipers.

This doesn't make sense to me as pull should be fairly equal on each side. The "Y" configuration of the cable should be self-adjusting (a saddle that the cable can slide in). None-the-less sounds like you need a shorter length somewhere to get them engaged fully. The actuating lever on the caliper looks pretty stout. Maybe some pictures?

What is the mechanism of the parking brake actuation?  It's mechanical, right?  No hydraulics involved?

Should be able to just eyeball the mechanism and see what it's doing.

If it's a Maxima caliper or something similar, it is mechanical but not visible. All internal to the caliper

The spring is likely stiff but can you move the arm on the caliper that the cable attaches to?

Looks like about 0.1 mm clearance there.  Is that finished work or in progress?

That's a picture I pulled off the internet for reference. I wanted to know if he could move the arm shown in the photograph manually.
