Posted November 5, 2024Nov 5 comment_671069 Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out a good method or replacement part for the rubber seal inside of the license plate assembly on my early 240z. I recently opened the assembly to replace a bulb and noticed that the rubber seal/gasket (seemingly for waterproofing) was deteriorating and falling apart. I'm wondering what you'd recommend to replace the rubber gasket and if there are any aftermarket parts available. I'm assuming Nissan doesn't have this available anymore. Any tips or information would be much appreciated! Thanks so much. Get some 1/8" thick closed cell foam and lay the print on it. Use a very sharp hobby knife to cut out a new gasket. I've used this process several times for license light refurb. If you have a folder of these scans/plans, I'd happily send some $$$ for access! November 5, 2024Nov 5 comment_671074 @GoldAir A tip: cut some of the excess off of the print so that you can tape it securely to the foam so it does not move around while doing the pattern cuts. November 6, 2024Nov 6 Author comment_671083 I'll do you one better: I have some spray adhesive I can use on the paper and stick it to the foam.
