Euro Balance Tune

I am exploring making a Euro balance tube out of this balance tube

I got some new plugs for the end of the tube and I have a piece of 3/8" rebar to try to knock the plug out. Then I will trim off the extra lumps and take it to the welding shop that just recently TIG'd up Cody's exhaust.

I have done a few, some with the brake vacuum connection on the end and some with it on the top. Once you weld up the holes, to make it look good you have to go with the polished look and if you fill material is not close to the same alloy as the tube you will always see them as they have a different shine.

The non-emission style has only has two ports, one for brake booster and one for the PCV. The euro one has a third port. Also you can see a tapped hole in the right hand ear for the throttle linkage, which I think is for mounting the kick down pot, which the early ones do not have. Small differences I know.

Personally, I like the stock cast look of the E41 tube. The ZT and home grind and polished ones just don't look right to me. IMHO. Maybe if everything was ground and polished. 

I bought an E41 from Germany.

So I took a #3 rebar (3/8") and had to smooth it out some as a long punch. Then I knocked out the end plug. I bought a box of 20mm plugs to replace it with. Although I believe that plug is still available from Nissan

The Id of the tube is about 3/4" So I will make up a piece of copper to use as a backer for the TIG welder.

Next step is trimming the lumps off the tube...
