So I'd like to hear opinions about these two options, and/or others. There not much in the descriptions on the MSA site. I don't want this thread to go negative, and all about brands. Thanks.

Koito H4 housings: https://tinyurl.com/e8rcpjwd

Auxito H4 LED bulbs: https://www.amazon.com/AUXITO-Bulbs-Brighter-Canbus-Lifespan/dp/B0DK5CSY2P

  • Plug-and-play solution

  • No relays needed

  • Low cost

  • Reliable

  • Good beam pattern

  • Can be converted to halogen bulbs if someone in law enforcement throws a hissy fit

@bpilati First one is best for me, my car isn't modernized to fashion the halo ring on the 2nd option. TBH, this looks like a kit that Dave put together and is selling through MSA. Dave really knows his stuff and makes good electrical mods.

@SteveJ The Koito housing didn't show up for me with that link. Do you have another one?

I went with the Holley Retro Brights. I liked them as they looked original and they came in classic white….which is like the original yellowish light beam colour…..not the super white. Amazing light now compared to my original bulbs!

@Grapes Interesting find on the Holley Retrobrights.. can you share pics of your install? I would think it needs a different housing unless they provide one? Do you need to cut the stock housing?

Check this out, I always get into arguments with people about the "best" light for the situation. But with a car my belief is higher Kelvin is better because it brings out the details and can typically travel further. Here's a screen showing the different light levels and how it works. With LED technology you can basically control what you want to see (with the appropriate purchase ofc).

Here are the options that Holley shows on their website.

@Mike The Koitos do show up. They actually have a Toyota part number: 81110-60P70 because they are sold as a conversion kit for the Land Cruiser. They come with a relay kit and H4 halogen bulbs. I tossed the relay kit and halogen bulbs, and it was still cheaper than getting some Hella H4 housings.

If you do a Google search on the part number, you should be able to find them.

I know Dave's stuff, I have some of the harnesses on my Z. I don't know about switching needs for these lights, but I assume they're selected because they will work on early Zs.

Appears they come with a relay which "should" enable you to run with your existing wiring. I don't see a wiring diagram so I don't know for sure. Note these look like they are HID upgrades which require a voltage converter and is also included.

@Zs-ondabrain Dave, you still lurking around? Is this your kit sold by MSA? If so, can you provide more deets?

I think Dave is back making his kits, at least sort of.
