Posted Tuesday at 07:12 PM1 day comment_675246 Just wondering if anyone has purchased and tried products from Race Ramps?I'm looking at possibly using this for my ultra small garage just to look under the car. And the flat stoppers for long term storage of my Z. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/69282-anyone-tried-race-ramps/ Share on other sites
Tuesday at 07:36 PM1 day comment_675247 I have a set for my trailer to extend the aluminum ramps for airdam clearance. Works well. My set is different from your pics. Mine are extensions where the aluminum ramp lays on top in a formed groove at the front. Tuesday at 08:08 PM1 day Author comment_675248 Yeah they have many options. Seems like a good product but I wasn't sure about the density of the rubber. Pics show heavy hot rods on these ramps so probably not an issue for a little Z. ;) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/69282-anyone-tried-race-ramps/#findComment-675248 Share on other sites
Tuesday at 08:35 PM1 day comment_675249 I have owned these 2-piece Race Ramps for 12 years: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003ZAHTC4The 67 inch is nice if you have a lowered car or front air dam.As for being sturdy, I used them when changing the oil on a 2024 Frontier Pro-X with no issues. The curb weight of that model is 4565lbs. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/69282-anyone-tried-race-ramps/#findComment-675249 Share on other sites
Tuesday at 09:37 PM1 day comment_675250 I bought Rhino ramps and use them with my cars and lawn mower for removing and sharpening the blades. They work great for me and cost a lot less. Also they stack together for easy storage. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/69282-anyone-tried-race-ramps/#findComment-675250 Share on other sites
Tuesday at 10:30 PM1 day Author comment_675251 I used to have a set of the old metal ramps that would slide across the garage floor when trying to drive the car up the ramp. These look like they are so much better. I also have an E89 Z4 which would also benefit from the purchase. I’ll post a few pics after I recoup from tax season. Tuesday at 11:51 PM1 day comment_675253 What I liked about the Race Ramps over the Rhino Ramps is that it is easier for me to get under the car. If you're skinny & don't have a lowered car/air dam, Rhino Ramps are fine. The Harbor Freight version of Rhino Ramps will be on sale April 7-14 for about $45. The 7-10th are for Inside Track members.https://www.harborfreight.com/6500-lb-capacity-portable-ramp-set-2-piece-63956.html Edited Tuesday at 11:51 PM1 day by SteveJ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/69282-anyone-tried-race-ramps/#findComment-675253 Share on other sites
22 hours ago22 hr Author comment_675262 Oh my... just look at this powered hyrdaulic setup. I wish I had a set of these when I was doing my resto back in the day. This seems like a good alternative. https://quickjack.com/ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/69282-anyone-tried-race-ramps/#findComment-675262 Share on other sites
15 hours ago15 hr comment_675266 I have QuickJacks, too. They aren't as fast as ramps, but they can raise all four corners. They came in handy when I needed to replace a bad transmission and replace suspension bushings. You need wall space to store them. I mounted a 2x6 board to about 3 or 4 studs and mounted the hangers on the 2x6.When I got mine, one of the pistons was faulty (not uncommon), but they sent a replacement that I received a week later.
