Posted Thursday at 10:15 PM5 days comment_675289 Guys, the air ducts connecting to left and right air vents are ripped on couple of places. They are cloth kind of material and a bit dusty and tape doesnt stick. Want to keep the original ones as I put the dash back in.Any tips what to use to seal or repair these rips? Friday at 08:25 PM4 days Author comment_675300 Found the right solution…aluminum tape. Here is the original in dash hose. Planning to wrap all of them. Saturday at 03:34 AM4 days comment_675312 I guess you really don't see these with the dash in. I'd worry if I were doing a period correct restore but if I was making the car "my car", who cares! In fact as you can see u can also press it to go in between hose spaces. Pretty happy with it. The original hoses were ripping at few places, now they gonna last another 50 years. I had noticed the original hoses on the inside has foam, this makes the flow of air more smooth. Plus they go on the inside so probably not worried about the silver appearance. Monday at 05:25 PM1 day comment_675337 You can also look at some of the great duct products for marine. Here's a link to something I've used in my boat. It's much stronger and won't rip like other thin products. Doesn't look like you need much but at least it's an option. https://www.fisheriessupply.com/trident-marine-trident-polyduct-hvac-duct/481-3000 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/69291-air-ducts-repair-280z/#findComment-675337 Share on other sites
