1 Bravo 6,

Rick that's what I call good information. Thanks for the effort. Nice Production.

Everything you placed in your thread is in the data base. I put in Rocky instead of Yeppoon to show the large regional city.

Was "Precious" sold new by Capitol Motors in Sydney, just curious.

Cheers

That's correct Steve,

Capitol Motors, 100 Parramatte Road, Auburn N.S.W, 2144.

Fortunately, a fair amount of documentation was in the glove box when I bought the car, including the name and address of the original owner, who I have been in contact with. (Sent them a photo of the car after the paint job).

Rick,

"Precious" was a good find all round, so rare to find so much history on a Zed from Sydney. I guess you would have found out a lot from the original owners so lucky to find them.

I had the drivers hand book, and some other bits and pieces that placed my Zed around Strathfield. The owners detail page in the hand book was empty not faded out but void of any informtion unfortunately. It is the original for my Zed as the key codes written in matched my original set of keys and barrels.

Do you know the original purchase date. or first rego plate number for "Precious".

Cheers

Steve

That's really good to hear Rick, it's always good when you know the history of a car :).

My current car has only had 2 previous owners I'm the third and proud of it :).

My old 240z had some history written down with it and was in rough condition I had always thought I'd show the previous owner what I had done when it was finished but sigh never finished that one.

Oh well when my current one undergoes a complete rebuild "one of these days" i guess I can show the PO :).

Sorry Steve, I didn't realise the original rego no. would be of use to you.

I have a vry faded workshop repair form from Capitol Motors that gives the rego no. of the car as, HCW 423. (I think).

However, an RACQ membership dated 1/02/86 shows the rego number as, HCN 473. Which is correct ???????????????????????

Take your pick.

Another RACQ membership dated 31/01/87 has the rego as

254 PLV.

Then there's one dated 18/09/2000 that has the rego as

380 EYO

The current rego no. is 312 GDF.

There ya go mate. Anything else I can help you with ?????????

Rick.

G'Day there Gavin,

Yes mate, I was VERY lucky to find "Precious". Actually, my "She who has sharp eyes" spotted the car, hidden up the back of a used car yard in Brisbane.

The glove box contained not only the owners manual, (still in the original plastic folder), but also a brochure advertising the 260Z Sports Coupe and the 2+2.

I've had both sides of the brochure colour copied, made a frame for it and use it as part of the presentation at car shows. Makes for good reading.

Yep, A REAL lucky find.

Rick.

1 Bravo 6,

Rick that is amazing, I will put the first number in for reference as for the rest I will put them in except for the one you are driving on.

looking at the capitol document rego and the RACQ numbers

HCW423 and HCN473 are the same PLATE. I suspec the second numbers are good for the age.

I want to see this info set up with "Precious" at a show one day.

one day.

Cheers

Sounds great to me, I had a sales brochure for datsun products somewhere.

It had things like the SUn Visor , bumper over riders, fog lights etc.. Mainly for stuff to put on a 200b etc...

Still good to see.

I've never seen a owners manual for a HS30 Z :(.

I've been tempted to buy an original radio on EBay but :).

PM me your address and I will photocopy my handbook for you Gav... if you want an original, try Motor Book World in Camberwell he might be able to get one for you. I think there may even be one for sale on ebay (australia) at the moment.. pricey though..

One other thing I failed to mention is that the original tool kit

and wheel chocks also came with the vehicle. Rather dirty and the spanners were a bit rusty but a good soak in lemon juice, a coat of rust eater topped off with a coat of Kill Rust Silver and they came up very nicely.

Excellent Rick,

I am so glad that "Precious" was available when you were looking. you gained so much for the price. I have added the tools in, thats the most info for one Zed. Thanks again.

Does anyone out there have information

I am after your production serial number, the data plate engine number the date of production, certification or first registration of your HS30, RS30 GRS30 or a fair guess. I will input all colour interior colour and special information you wish to share.

so it will look like

HS30-102660 L24173261

06/73 M Australia NSW SYD date 17/07/03.

One variable is M for manufacture

C for certification (ADR)

R for first registration

Anyone
