I was told no end of times that they were the real thing. To cut a long story short, they turned out to be a set of moulds that were made ( very roughly! ) in the UK from a pair of stock steel doors, and they even had the moulding shop's name on them. So much for them being the "real thing".......There's always the chance that the moulds this guy has COULD indeed be the real thing, but I'm at a loss to think how and why they could have ended up in Australia when you'd think that they would really be more useful in Japan. January 14, 200421 yr comment_64285 AlanT,I wouldn't blame you for being cynical, after all it's true when you hear stories like this you tend to think twice about their validity.As far as I know, the guy (Rob) went to Japan back in the early '80's and apparently bought these moulds that Nissan used for the C110 series. From what I understand he paid a mint for these and was disappointed on return to Australia the demand wasn't there for them.Only two sets have been produced from his moulds before I had mine made. Oh, I understood that when you said original flare moulds these moulds were made from original GT-R flares, not actually moulds bought from "Nissan", or whomever owned them.I find it hard to believe someone would go to Japan, buy moulds (for a mint) for flares for a car which was never sold in Australia, and then be disappointed to return and find out no one wants them??? Sounds strange, but then stranger things have happened. I'll tell you what though, if I had those moulds I'd be negotiating with buyers in Japan........
