Posted July 24, 200321 yr comment_45026 Anyone know if 240k headers are the same as 240z? How about 260c etc? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7169-ks-and-zs/ Share on other sites
July 24, 200321 yr comment_45033 I can not answer the question from memory, they are very similar , for a quick confirmation, the diffrence will be at the header pipe Flange. The best method is to ask your local exhaust shop which gasket fits the header pipe flange his listing will tell you the cross reference between models. There are definate diffrences in the flange studs depending on the age of the item in hand, newer has the heavier size studs. hope this helpsSteve:classic: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7169-ks-and-zs/#findComment-45033 Share on other sites

July 24, 200321 yr Author comment_45042 I guess the header flange where it meets the head and a side shot to see if it's not a godawful 6 into 1 type arrangement. Here's hoping it is the same coz I need a header and extractors are BLOODY expensive new IMHO... unless someone has one?????? July 24, 200321 yr comment_45043 All of the L series headers should be the dual flange type, just the hole size(diameter) and secondary/ dual header pipe size will vary.cheersSteve:classic: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7169-ks-and-zs/#findComment-45043 Share on other sites
July 24, 200321 yr comment_45048 OK... While i'm not new to Z's, I am new to all the specifications.. my first Z was just my first car... I didn't study it nor did I have a shop manual.I hear many terms/acronyms tossed around (FAQ please) and now's as good a time as any for a few Qs...OK... what is the difference with the K and C (240K and 240C) that was referred to. I never knew the Z's came in different letters... Also, why does everyone refer to Z's as Zed's..... What is a Zed...Northern NJ Larry Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7169-ks-and-zs/#findComment-45048 Share on other sites
July 24, 200321 yr comment_45049 Well, Zed, you see, is how Aussies and the British say the letter Z. 240Z, 240K, 240C... they were a part of a family sharing the same 2.4 litre engine, basically. Totally different cars... 240C 240K (pic below is JMT240KGTR's car) And they both came in Coupe form too... July 24, 200321 yr comment_45062 I don't recall K's and C's (or any other letters aside from Z) in the US market. Did they sell here as well, or just in other overseas markets? July 25, 200321 yr comment_45117 Hi Larry, No, the 240K (aka Skyline) wasn't sold in the US, nor any version of it. I'm pretty certain the 240C (aka Cedric) didnt sell in the US either, but don't take my word on that! 240C Coupe http://members.fortunecity.com/hardtops/240C230c.htm 240K 4-door and Coupe http://members.fortunecity.com/mang01/Nissan/240K.htm And you can click my gallery to see another one Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7169-ks-and-zs/#findComment-45117 Share on other sites
July 25, 200321 yr comment_45146 There are two different types of headers or flanges, we've just gone through this dilema on my brothers 260z.:stupid: In the end the best option turned out to be a 280zx manifold, its got bigger bores, heavier flange and the studs are twice as thick as the old 260 We all know the joys of a snapped stud :tapemouth :stupid: :tapemouth :stupid: You will also need the inlet pipe from the 280zx, we reckon the exhaust sounds deeper and flows better Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7169-ks-and-zs/#findComment-45146 Share on other sites
