Posted July 28, 200321 yr comment_45363 Occasionally I come across a pic of one of the old school rear fin spoilers. I think they have a real cool 70's look to them. Were they made by datsun? What do you guys think of this style of spoiler? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7219-original-rear-spoiler/ Share on other sites

July 28, 200321 yr comment_45379 isnt the one from MSA, the "BRE Style spoiler" just like that? i know they have a couple that look like that, i cant tell the difference between them, maybe one is a one piece and the other is a three piece? if i were to put a spoiler on my car it would deffinately be something like that.-Zach Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7219-original-rear-spoiler/#findComment-45379 Share on other sites
July 29, 200321 yr comment_45389 I'm trying to find the 3 piece style.- Jeff Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7219-original-rear-spoiler/#findComment-45389 Share on other sites
July 29, 200321 yr comment_45397 hmmm, ok im looking at my mag and they have a "one piece spoiler" part # 50-1573, and the "BRE style spoiler" # 50-1527. i can see obvious physical differences but the BRE looks to be a one piece. i know i have seen those exact spoilers in three sections, i just dont recall where, i bet i have a pic of one on my site... ill have to look, maybe someone just took the BRE and chopped it to their specs. i cant find any three piece spoilers anywhere. the third car down on page 10 looks like the spoiler is connected on the sides, so it must be a three piece, but it doesnt look like a BRE spoiler.-Zach Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7219-original-rear-spoiler/#findComment-45397 Share on other sites
July 29, 200321 yr comment_45398 Hi guys I also have a 3 piece rear spoiler which I am currently fitting to my race car. It is a copy of the ones that they ran at lemans in the 70's except it raps around the back a bit more. It should be fitted on the car by next weekend. I will try and get a chance to take a photo of it. If it works well on the track I will be making a mold so if people are interested I can make a few.Ash Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7219-original-rear-spoiler/#findComment-45398 Share on other sites
July 29, 200321 yr comment_45401 I have one on the rear of my car, a one piece like the orange 240 and it also has a platform on the right hand side as if a badge should be mounted there, is this a 'BRE' spoiler? July 29, 200321 yr comment_45415 There not actually a BRE spoiler but they were an optional spoiler as part of the 432R range. It was made by Nissan alright and were often fittted by dealers. I don't know if it's possible to get them new from Nissan but there are a few replica's that are being made.I like the spoiler but passed up on one because I have a thing about drilling into the sheet metal on my Z. Just can't do it well yet anyway. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7219-original-rear-spoiler/#findComment-45415 Share on other sites
July 29, 200321 yr Author comment_45416 yer the drilling part is something to be considered. I like the idea of the one peice spoiler. I think a black one on my red car would look sweet. Is there a place that stocks them in Victoria. It would be nice to see one before buying one. Perhaps there is a way to modify it so it can be glued on. July 29, 200321 yr comment_45422 it was Nathan(Zpeed) he only wanted $150 for it, think he sold it to someone ask Zr240 he sold that one to Nathan . Never actually saw it and I agree black would look great, However I think if I ever do it I'll put the Flares on and Gnose or maybe front spoiler. By then I think I'd be over drilling and wouldn't mind hehe. But yeah black all the way.
