thanks for your reply, finaly i have used 75w80 motul with winns easy gear change oil additif.

And in the r200 i have used 75w90 oil but i have a problem with, when i speed up or when i slow down i hear a bad sound from the r200, and when i have the left rear wheel up and when i turn it i can feel too many clearence (i think)....

the r200 was already open....so perhaps some bad news...

how many clearence can you feel when you test like i do? how many is normal?

How can i test the r200 to feel what is the problem?

Hi Bpaccaud,

I use 80W 90 in my R180. That is normal differential oil which you can buy at every auto shop. You need thick oil because it’s getting thinner by his own heating.

About the noise I can’t say, hopefully it’s ‘only’ the bearing what you hear.

By the way, Are you a member of the French Z club??

thanks for the reply, i'm not yet a member of the french Z car club but i think to subscribe in few months.

if it was only the bearing i thinks that the sound would be louder with the speed, but in my problem the sound appear when i accelerate or slow down.

And i notice some clearence when i turn the left wheel (from right to left slowly), and nothing on the right wheel.

perhaps it s possible to be an u joint drive shaft?!!! but i don't think taht the sound comes to this part.

You know, that sounds exact the way I got it when I visited you country two months ago.

Somewhere around Paris it started with a noise, like there was a coat hanger around my axle and was ticking and ticking and ticking.

That sound went over to another a sort of screaming, just what you tell us. When you accelerate or slow down.

This story is exactly written in the manual. If you jack your car up underneath the diff. you must be able to see if the UJ has movement! New UJ costs €30 in Holland. I replaced all four of them in one time! Good luck.

I couldn't work out what you meant by clearance but if your getting a fair amount of play moving your rear wheels left to right I'd say it's the Uni Joints. You many only hear them slowing down or taking off because this is when they "click" the most. At highway speeds I can hear mine make a bit of noise but mainly on the left hand rear of the car.

Anyway good luck let us know what happens.
