August 5, 200321 yr comment_46122 GavIs that you I see putting your hand up to look at the car? From memory it is in Heidleburg or something. I have a friend in Melbourne that offered to inspect the car for me if I was interested, but when I saw the asking price and the description of the condition I baulked at it.My guess is he is asking too much for the car for the condition it is in and is playing on the low VIN#. August 9, 200321 yr comment_46568 Mick what's this about straightening chassis rails? Mine are a bit beat up from a PO at some stage in it's life and I was told to fix that you'd need to really strip the car down to get her nice a straight??? August 11, 200321 yr comment_46702 gavin the type of straightening i was talking about was getting the front end back into square after an accident so the car handles ok Locking it on a jig then pulling the rails back into lineAs for making chasis rails neat again i made a cover for mine from light steel sheet and welded it over the existing rails bit extra strength (the rails where rust free just looked like the car had been lifted by a fork lift a few times) could do this while car complete but would be easier with car on side or with motor and box outMick Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7294-240z-or-260z-au/?&page=2#findComment-46702 Share on other sites
August 11, 200321 yr comment_46753 Yeah I got the whole forklift thing happening too but I think I'll wait till I fully restore the car ground up to fix this issue, as it only looks ugly underneath. August 27, 200321 yr comment_47922 I have 2 seater 260Z's, a 1974 restored shell and a original but complete 1977. Would consider selling either one so I can focus on the other.
