Posted August 4, 200321 yr comment_46009 hey all im new my 1st post, been reading for months, since 1st trying to get my 260 going after 9 yrs , got her going and blew the head gasket,so tore her down ended up taking the engine to a shop, so far so good .its been a couple of months and cant wait any longer, saw this 79 280zx fi on the river road and stoped to look ,little rust on air dam and rear skirt,thats it!! battery tray is flawless same w/ wheel wells, inside needs work(seats-carpet-roof lining-2 cracks in the dash-door panels)but not so bad,lookin round the car find out it has new exhaust 2 1/2 too a magaflow no header semi new susp kyb struts & springs ? rims? &new tires drove ok , seems to have a stumble not accel, but when cruisin at any speed if not on the gas,you mash it it drives fine. going back tomorrow round 5pm (pacifc time) to look alittle closer Q.is there anything I should look for in the fi . or somthing else? not real good w/ fi BTW its got 5-speed looks stock other than whats mentioned power windows/ mirrors , no radio, no digi dash, no real dents that I could see , its metalic light blue, tinted rear sides & back any feedback would be great thanks chris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7321-buying-79-280zx-fi/ Share on other sites More sharing options...

August 4, 200321 yr comment_46015 Oh, if your serious about a z I have a line on a local 1970 240z , no rust, sans windshield for 1200,..The guy says he doesnt know if its a runner though, the owners passed away and his parents are selling.
