white94cam Posted August 4, 2003 Share #1 Posted August 4, 2003 I know that insurance varies a lot and you cant ever really put a number on it. I'm just wondering how much it would be for a 240z with a 17 year old kids name on the title. Full coverage, or just liability. Thanks
jmkm000 Posted August 10, 2003 Share #2 Posted August 10, 2003 Try collectors insurance at Hagerty.com if it is not a daily driver.
shyfty Posted August 10, 2003 Share #3 Posted August 10, 2003 I went on the hunt for a good deal just a few weeks ago. some minor differences: mine's a 260, I'm 18, and I was looking for it being a daily driver, but.....it mostly goes by region, and definitely your driving record (that reckless driving doesn't help me out at all ...live and learn) but for the most part, just liability ranged from $1,400-$1,800 (per 6mo.). I got a really good deal, though, with USAA: $812, and that's actually including comprehensive. Mostly that big difference came from having my parent having a policy with them (this was for a seperate policy, though).I dunno, you mostly just have to work with what you've got, but good luck. PrOxLaMuS© Posted August 11, 2003 Share #4 Posted August 11, 2003 best option...put the parents name on the title, mainly because insurance for teens are much more expensive.... me for example, I am 17 years old with good student discount, drivers ed course discount, and not a single ticket or crash on my record..... $163 a month through State Farm Insurance. 240znz Posted August 11, 2003 Share #5 Posted August 11, 2003 I insured mine under a Classic Car policy here in New Zealand. Full comprehensive with a low excess. Only $113 NZ a year. That's about $70 US.The insurance is void if I do over 5000 km's a year.....not too bad eh?So your options are.1. Pay the money2. Sell the car3. Move to NZ and enjoy a cheap insurance(yes I am over 30, married with 2 kids, morgage and haven't had an accident in 5 years, had a license for 18 years). If you do take up option 3, then let me know so you can pick up some parts for us parts deprived NZers. In tongue and cheek...... Alfadog Posted August 11, 2003 Share #6 Posted August 11, 2003 Oh, well I was resisting having a brag, but since you've gone and started...................1971 240Z manual for a 17 year old with no prior driving experience, comprehensive cover up to a value of $5000AU (they wouldn't insure for any value over that) was just over $400AU a year, driving any amount of km's. Suncorp Metway I was with :classic:

Murph Posted November 14, 2003 Share #8 Posted November 14, 2003 260Zed: I have my zed insured with Shannons. Full comp with an agreed value of $4900 (what I paid for it) for $350PA. The excess is $450 provided you have an approved imobiliser. Oh and I'm 21, rating 2 I think. I'm pretty sure you must be at least 20 and have a close to spotless driving history. Pretty damn happy with them so far. Edit: And you can mod your car to your hearts content, provided it's legal and you tell them what you've done.
