Posted August 5, 200321 yr comment_46206 Just got back from the gas tank repair shop . They said my tank was to far gone to clean it and reline the inside. If true I have to try and get a gas tank from some where. Any hints where I can get one would be appreciated. It seems like I make two steps forward and then one back. Getting to old for this.ThanksAl Squillante Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7360-fuel-tank/ Share on other sites
August 5, 200321 yr comment_46207 Al, When I saw your first post about your troubles, I wanted to suggest . Gas Tank Renu service. But, when searching for a franchise in New York, I could only find 1 in Albany and 1 in Buffalo. Now, I don't know much about NY, but I know enough that those are a long haul from Long Island!Sorry Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7360-fuel-tank/#findComment-46207 Share on other sites
August 5, 200321 yr Author comment_46215 Victor Thanks for the reply. Those areas are a good distance away but I will try to locate them in a closer location. Al Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7360-fuel-tank/#findComment-46215 Share on other sites

August 5, 200321 yr comment_46225 You can search junk yards for a used tank that is in better shape than yours, but you'll likely have to spend serious bucks getting it put into decent shape..............or You might want to consider MOYER"S or GAS TANK RENU for a PERMANENT repair. Your tank CAN be shipped to places such as the ones I or Victory Laury mentioned. Good Luck.PS "GAS TAN RENU" website shows a dealer in Queensbury, NY in addition to ones in Albany and Buffalo Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7360-fuel-tank/#findComment-46225 Share on other sites

August 6, 200321 yr comment_46294 I have a tank from my 71. When I flushed it, there were some larger flakes of the paint that washed out. I'm not sure about how rusty it is but I'm letting it go for $10.00 including the plastic vapor tank. I haven't used Moyer's myself, but they have an excellent reputation. I'd be interested in your opinion of the service that you get from them.Regards,Carl Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7360-fuel-tank/#findComment-46346 Share on other sites
August 6, 200321 yr comment_46348 Rick,I may be interested in your tank. I'm starting the process of swapping engines right now and I need to drop my original tank. I had it refurbished with the Renu process back in '94, but it sat out of the car until '02! Now I'm having to replace fuel filters every 3-4 months becuase of the rust trash in the tank.I will be contacting Renu about this shortly and depending on what transpires will determine if I need your tank. I'll let you know. I'll also let the site know if Renu will fix this without any hassles.
