Fuel tank

Recommended Posts

Just got back from the gas tank repair shop . They said my tank was to far gone to clean it and reline the inside. If true I have to try and get a gas tank from some where. Any hints where I can get one would be appreciated.

It seems like I make two steps forward and then one back. Getting to old for this.

Thanks

Al,I know your pain. There will be days when two steps forward, one back will be a GREAT day!! It's a love /hate kinda thing when you play with old toys.Walk away sometimes.Lotsa steps forward is this website. From one that has been through it without this tool, you don't really know how far ahead you are!!:classic:

You can search junk yards for a used tank that is in better shape than yours, but you'll likely have to spend serious bucks getting it put into decent shape..............or You might want to consider MOYER"S or GAS TANK RENU for a PERMANENT repair. Your tank CAN be shipped to places such as the ones I or Victory Laury mentioned. Good Luck.

PS "GAS TAN RENU" website shows a dealer in Queensbury, NY in addition to ones in Albany and Buffalo

I dont know what is wrong with the tank you have , but POR has a kit that works wonders , you might give them a call . This is my local dealer's number 541-345-8092 Give him a call he is vary helpful mention the club and how you heard of the product. The stuff works , what do you have to loose.

Good Deal, Al Let us know how it all comes out for you. I haven't used Moyer's myself, but they have an excellent reputation. I'd be interested in your opinion of the service that you get from them.

Carl

Rick,

I may be interested in your tank. I'm starting the process of swapping engines right now and I need to drop my original tank. I had it refurbished with the Renu process back in '94, but it sat out of the car until '02! Now I'm having to replace fuel filters every 3-4 months becuase of the rust trash in the tank.

I will be contacting Renu about this shortly and depending on what transpires will determine if I need your tank. I'll let you know. I'll also let the site know if Renu will fix this without any hassles.
