August 6, 200321 yr comment_46274 drunkenmaster, Nice score. Is that a factory exhaust manifold, just wandering what the casting numbers are on it. Do you know if all the L series engines use the same turbo exhaust manifold. Hope you can get it up and running.CheersSteve :classic: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7373-latest-z-purchase/#findComment-46274 Share on other sites
August 6, 200321 yr comment_46283 hehe nice score I have a new friend with a couple of these manifolds around his place . Was tempted to buy one till I saw how fast his NA Z was . I have a spare P90 at home like you so will see what happens in the future. There might be a Z get together here in Melb soon with a few of us young guys I'll keep you updated were looking at a Saturday or Sunday in a fortnight.:classic: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7373-latest-z-purchase/#findComment-46283 Share on other sites
August 6, 200321 yr Author comment_46364 Well, a turbo is always going to be faster for many reasons including that it helps compensate for the outdated head design, but there is something inherently cool about a highly tuned NA L28, preferably with independant throttle bodies I will check out the casting numbers today and post them up. The inlet manifold pictured seems to be some sort of mock up to run the system on a carbureted car I think? August 7, 200321 yr Author comment_46384 The exhaust casting is:F5*KN481 YAnyone got a source to find out what these mean.I have a photo of another manifold which has 82 in place of 81 so perhaps this is the year as the turbo 280zx was an 81-83 car i think.
