August 7, 200321 yr comment_46462 Looks pretty good to me.... the only thing I can see wrong so far is the frame rails have sustained some bumps and dents from either no-so-well-placed jacks or road hazards. The best thing I can say is, at the least, you might want ot replace the frame rails under the floors if the floors clean up with no large amounts of rust thru. Can't give a 100% diagnosis without seeing the floors and frame rails after a good cleaning and sanding (or sandblasting) to clean off all the grime and undercoating. How do the floor pans look from the inside? That is another place to look, if you see rust holes from the inside, you're gonna be surprised what you find under the undercoating and grime underneath. August 8, 200321 yr comment_46509 I see the typical bends and dents that people make from placing a jack in the wrong spot. (Mainly using a floor jack on the floor rather than using the factory jack under the rocker panels like they should)One note though: the drivers side floor has been patched before. (Keith: I'm suprised you didn't catch that.) You can see the patch to the outside of the frame rail. I also notice a lot of surface rust in that area. Maybe they didn't put much paint on it? Who knows. It looks solid, but look at the welds very carefully and make sure they are clean and good.Other minor note: The rear seal on the tranny is leaking. Not a big deal, just a lot of oil on the driveshaft. But, pay attention to how the tranny sounds. You can ruin a tranny by running it low or out of oil.How does the rest of the car look? August 8, 200321 yr comment_46515 Can't give a 100% diagnosis without seeing the floors and frame rails after a good cleaning and sanding (or sandblasting) to clean off all the grime and undercoating. Very true. On a good note metal coated in oil dose not like to rust. I would ask " how did that red wire get through the floor on the right side?" I would also look at the floors near the rear of the doors. It looks rusty there but I cant tell from the photo. LOOK HARD :devious: at the frame rails under the hood. Where the sway bar is mounted is a good spot for starting your look. August 8, 200321 yr Author comment_46529 Thanks for the info, guys. THe rest of the car looks great, excellent paint job, mostly new interior, no exterior rust, etc. - The underbody was the only thing I wasn't too sure about. Thanks again!
