What the heck is this thing made of???

So I left the T5's clutch fork in the tranny, but I only have the stock clutch slave cylinder. I refuse to pull my entire engine just to change the clutch fork so I just want to drill a hole in the end of the fork so the slave cylinder will work. I can't drill through it.....all drill bits just spin and spin to no avail......what am I to do......

Hi

The area that you are drilling might be a high carbon steel

What type of drill are you using (pitch, material type),did you start with a small(1/8) pilot drill

You can roughly tell if it is hard if you run a file over it.

(shavings=mild)

can you be more specific about where you are drilling.

Is the area prone to high ware

HA! I heard these very words come from my mouth! When I installed the ZX (non T5) in my car, I paid no attention to the different clutch fork until time to hook it up.

Attempts to drill that sucker distroyed 8 bits, including a brand new 1/4, which I thought would cut for a pilot hole (thought, right!)

I ended up cutting the rod instead. In the future, this will give me very little adjustment. In the future, I'll pull the tranny. In the future, I'll be rich, handsome, healthy, smart and young.
