Bpaccaud Posted August 9, 2003 Share #1 Posted August 9, 2003 on my 260z turbo engine (Janspeed with S.U 2"), i find champion n9yc spark plugs when i bought it, when i contact Janspeed someone tell me to used NgK BPR 7 ES, Someone knows spark plugs sufficiently to tell me if there is a big difference between this to types and which is the best for my engine? I mainly use the car for track work so revs are always high.Moved over to NGK and quite happy with themNo1 son races motorcycles and he does not use anything but the NGK plug. PrOxLaMuS© Posted August 10, 2003 Share #4 Posted August 10, 2003 I just recently replaced mine.. and I have always used NGK plugs for my Nissan Sentra, my dad's Suzuki motorcycle....and originally on my Z.. but I went to Napa, Checkers, and Auto Zone, and non of them carry NGK's for my Z, but they carry NGK sparks? Bpaccaud Posted August 10, 2003 Author Share #8 Posted August 10, 2003 thanks guysNGK BP6ES is the original type recommand by Nissan for a stock Engine and if mine was stock i will used this model....But as mine engine as a turbo kit it will probably run at higher temperature, so i can used the same type.the number in the sparks model is the heat level the most higher is the number the most the spark was hot sparks.But i don't know the signification of BP and ESthe Janspeed recommand are 7 so most higher temperature here was the probleme and i don't know the difference between BP ES and BPR ESSo the champion N9YC are probably too hotSomeone know all this signification? The "P" means "Projected tip" The "R" means "Resistor"The R doesnt change much, same plug, but with a resistor for noise suppesion. I never use them, just supersitious I guess.So the champion N9YC are probably too hot Don't know. Different Manufacures use different numbering systems. With NGK's the higher numbers are cooler.
