Upon disscussion of my planning to do an L28et swap...

One of my local Z friends told me that a Z31 engine will just bolt into a 280z.

I told him I've never heard that.

I thought it would take motor mount mods, and not just "bolt in".

Is this true?:cross-eye

I don't know how it would be true, they're a totally different KIND of engine..............

Would be very surprised if it just bolted in!

what would be surprising is if you could use the Z31 tranny on our engine.... diff gear ratios... hmm

the Z31 motor will NOT just drop in and bolt up. sorry to say but it wouldnt happen.

also for the little power gain it wouldnt be worth the money that parts for it cost to rebuild. ive found several nice L6's with many miles on them.

ie nver seen a Z31 V6 that had high mileage that didnt need some sort of work, unless it was very very very well maintained.

somebody has allready done this swap and it took ALOT of work.

That is exactly what I thought. I guess he was just pulling my leg, or trying to sound smart in front of his girlfriend. I had to make sure since i am having a hard time locating a good complete L28et.

it was $12,000 for him to install it...

his name is ZR8ED and I still give him mad props for his install

but if you spend $12,000 you can do a complete RB26DETT swap
