Posted August 12, 200321 yr comment_46872 I went to put the tension-compression rods back in the other day and was having one hell of a time squishing the rubber enough to get the nut back on the rod. Tried using a couple of big "C" clamps, but they kept slipping off. These are the OEM RUBBER bushings. What have you guys done to get these puppies back in?TIA,Marty Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7477-compressing-t-c-bushings/ Share on other sites
August 12, 200321 yr comment_46879 It has been years since I have done them. I do remember them as being a BIT**:tapemouth. I put the inside bushing in first then without the outside bushing put the large washers on and crank the nut on. This can help seat the inside one. Then back the nut off and push the outside one on and see if you made enough room for the nut.
