Gav240z Posted August 14, 2003 Share #4 Posted August 14, 2003 I have a old old article from way back about Z's I can try scanning it for you can't guarantee good quality and would probably be large files. It's an AUS article. Also Unique cars have a lift out this month on Japanese classics it reviews the Z's up to the 350z.This month only be quick and it's about $4.Let me know
Gav240z Posted August 14, 2003 Share #5 Posted August 14, 2003 note it only has a brief comparison on the 240/260 not much but was all I could think of that I have. Most stuff is on restored examples and there usually if not always 240z's.What stuff do you have on 2+2's out of curiosity?
Rogersz Posted August 14, 2003 Author Share #6 Posted August 14, 2003 Thanks PrOxLaMus and Gav for that info, I grabbed that Unique cars mag already, I'll have a look for the ' Super Street" . Gav the only article of any decent size on the 2+2 is inSports Car World Jan 75 , Falcon GT coupe versus 260Z 2+2,Both Auto's ; 5 pages. It would be good to find an article mentioning the mechanical changes eg, diff g/box strg rack? ,we won't mention the carby's . The other articles I have are just small general over veiws including other Zeds as well. Gav I'd still be interested in that article you have I will PM you my e-mail address. If I come across any good articles on the 260 5 speed I'll let you Know.cheers
Alfadog Posted August 14, 2003 Share #7 Posted August 14, 2003 Hi Sorry but I don't really collect articles about the 260! This one might be a bit interesting though... Sports Car World July/September 1982, it has a great article about the 280ZX, which is then followed by the history of "the fast ladies", goes into a bit of detail about each model, but is more interesting than factual about the 260Z... If you keep an eye out on ebay they often pop up
halz Posted August 15, 2003 Share #8 Posted August 15, 2003 Rogersz,Try this. I own a copy of the book and its full of period articles, road tests etc on the 240, 260 and 260 2+2. I'll have a closer look tonight to see what specific 260 articles there are...http://www.pitstop.net.au/pitstop/prog/OpenDocument.cgi?id=V0X7S13PUM&PLU=

carguyinok Posted August 21, 2003 Share #10 Posted August 21, 2003 if you want a copy of the "SuperStreet" magazine, or clippings of it, just ask and i'll get it for you, and send it if you really want it. Dont waste the postage :stupid: :stupid: :stupid: IMO The car is nice dont get me wrong. It's the poor write up that makes me :tapemouth The writer should be :dead: IMO He didnt cover ANYTHING about the 240Z background or how much work this father\son team put in this car. They just rattle off a bunch of stuff as if it was just bolt & go. This ride is a nice (72 I think) 240Z covered in red with four wheel disc brakes 17" wheels and a early OHC turbo block with a five speed. The rag never said ANYTHING about what was feeding this motor fuel or spark. They did talk a bit about how cool the inside of it was. With the 5 point belts & race seats in matching red with roll cage. Just to forget to put a photo of it in :stupid: The only photos of the inside was a real close shot of PART of the gauges and another real close shot of the CD player "cool never seen one of those before:stupid:" Sorry, the rag just pissed me off with write ups about skylines GTRs ("that 99.96% of there readers will never even sit in let alone own.") That give every little spec on the ride. Then get a real wolrd car that there readers could own some day and forget what car specs are :sleepy: :sleepy:
