My clutch in my z needs some help. When I got the car out of storage the clutch fluid was like sludge. I cleaned out the master cylender the best I could but when I press the clutch and hold in down its loosing pressure. So I think I will just replace that hose and clean out the system. My question is how hard is it to replace that hose and bleed the clutch?

Replacing the hose and bleeding is exactly like it is for the brakes. About the hardest part is breaking the fitting loose from the original hose so you don't round off the 10mm nut. Make sure to flush the master and lines real well while you have the hose off too.

Before you take it apart try running a bunch of fluid through it. I've found that the clutch will gravity feed, put a 3/16" id hose on the bleeder and stick it in a can, open the bleeder and get back to the master and keep it filled. If you have an extra person have them pump the clutch slowly. That should really flush the old crap out of the lines.

If after that the clutch is soft or leaking down it's time for a new master and maybe slave. Don't bother trying to rebuild them, I just went through that and now have new, with wasted money on the rebuild kit

Something else I found is that the slave is steel, water in the system sinks to the low level when the system sits for a long time and rusts the crap out of it. If it works now it probably won't in a week.... If you change the master spend the extra $20 and replace the slave at the same time and be done with it. Another case of do it now or do it later....

Hey, quick question concerning the clutch on my car. I bought a new master and slave and drained it, but the clutch pedal still goes all the way to the floor with a small amount of resistance. I checked under the car and the rod from the slave cylinder does move quite a bit, I'm just not sure if the pedal should be able to go to the floor so easily. Thanks for any and all replies!

I would say that all's well, there isn't much resistance in the clutch pedal and it should go all the way to the floor. As long as you are getting full disengagement of the clutch with the pedal pushed in you are ok.
